New Year New Talk New Feels

Mercury-Venus, Pluto-Uranus Square, and MOON! Week of Jan 5, 2015.

As Mercury (the planet deemed master of communication in our charts) and Venus (the rapport-building, relationship-maintaining, aesthetically-oriented planet of our charts) have been zipping along all cuddled up in this new year (last week in Capricorn, and now into Aquarius)~ it reads to me that this is a good time for some Capricornian+Aquarian reflection about these two very personal planets and how they play out for us both individually and collectively.

In a nutshell, communication in r’ships is important, always. Hopefully we all know this and actively put the principle into practice on the regular. However, one of the gifts of astrology is to help us to take inventory of how things are going in our lives, and remind us of what work is necessary to stay on our ever-growing and evolving paths. The Mercury-Venus conjunction~ last week in Capricorn (*¡along with the Sun and Pluto which are still there*) suggests questioning & communicating about the structure and boundaries of our relationships… Is there a need to change structure or boundaries that are currently in place? A need to add more boundaries or take some away or alter agreements in some way, for some amount of time? It suggests looking at the integrity (or lack of integrity) present in all of our various connections, and the possible bridging of gaps where they may exist with loved ones or even with not-so-loved ones. And of course, on occasion it may be necessary and/or healthier to create more boundaries with loved ones~ to “detach with love,” as they say, or simply to detach if that’s all you can do to save yourself and your health.

To be clear- we have ‘relationships’ not just with partnery people, but with ALL types of people: work, children, friends, siblings, higher power/s, beloved soul mates, many different familial relationships, etc. Knowing where planets are passing through your own unique birthchart can reveal where the energies to do this work are presently most focused for you. Regardless of where the transits are taking place for us personally, though, we can simply scan through our minds and contemplate in which relationships we have unspoken thoughts & feelings that deserve expression. Are there things you haven’t been saying to someone you know that have been on your mind of late? Could saying such things possibly bring the focus of the r’ship towards a more loving and connected place?

The Mercury-Venus conjunction mentioned above has since moved into the sign of Aquarius (the revolutionary, eccentric, truth-sayer sign) while the Sun and Pluto camp out in hard-working Capricorn- squared by wildcard Uranus in the new-ideas fire sign of Aries- all together shining a simultaneously bright and burning light (like a firework or few) into the darkest, shadiest parts of our society, government, and way we live & work in the world that need to be challenged and altered NOW~ Better to have shifted more like 500 some years ago, but now will have to do… We are now afforded the energy to create revolutionary, innovative change (Uranus) on an individual level (Aries) in order to impact a much larger audience.

Add to this the Beautiful Biggy Feels Full Moon in Cancer that happened last night opposing that Sun-Pluto conjunction (and that still looms large and in charge up in the sky- GO OUTSIDE AND LOOK RIGHT NOW!) and our emotional reaction these last couple of days to words spoken or not spoken, actions taken or not taken, and spaces held or not held could have felt like Utter Overwhelm- especially if we are innately emotional and/or highly sensitive souls. The chart at the moment of the full moon on January 4 (see below image) is flipped upside down from its most natural orientation- with our vulnerable healing heart-work being made public, our yang-ego energy flow going inward/homeward~ and at a 90 degree cross with our collective past and future movements- asking us to look at ways in which we protect and/or war within relationships (either towards self or others) and ways in which we try to keep our boats from visibly rocking on the outside, while there is a tidal wave brewing below the surface.

How can we begin a more loving and compassionate conversation about all of these touchy topics? Even about or especially about the ones most difficult to discuss? What personal changes could we each make Today, and what ideas can we generate and put into action Today as we begin this new year… to tackle the parts of ourselves, our relationships, and our communities that are crumbling- or that never even had a foundation laid in the first place.

In Peace & Love,
Powers
