Dancer Bella Lewitsky, born 1.13.1916

Text content“To move freely you must be deeply rooted.” –Bella Lewitsky, dancer and choreographer born on this day in 1916, in Los Angeles, CA. Lewitsky entered the world while the Sun was in Capricorn, the Moon in Taurus, and Venus, Uranus, plus a Mercury/North Node of Moon conjunction were all in the sign of Aquarius. From my perspective, these planetary placements definitely mirror the beautiful Lewitsky quote above.  Our Sun and Moon signs represent our essence/ego/identity and emotional tone combined. Capricorn (Lewitsky’s sun sign) is the cardinal (initiatory) earth sign, and Taurus (L’s moon sign) is the fixed (stable) earth sign or the most *rooted* of all three earth signs. Aquarius is a fixed air sign (vs. a cardinal or mutable one)- and while we often think of fixedness as stubborn or rigid, the Aquarian goal is that of freedom above most things; it is fixedly set on liberty. The revolutionary, oddball planet Uranus has a strong affinity (or ‘rulership’) with the sign of Aquarius, indicating a highly free-spirt. Lewitsky having the very personal planets of Venus and Mercury in Aquarius, along with Uranus there ruling Aquarius, indicates that her artfulness, mind/communication, and way that she individuated were all most concerned with self-determination and independence. May we universally feel rooted and connected to the earth and one another in our whirling and working for the liberation of all peoples.
